First Polaroid SX-70 shots

You may remember we blogged about these classic cameras way back when. We recently got our acts together, put our money where our mouths are and got our Polaroid SX-70 up and running. Here are some of the best of the preliminary shots taken around the Henrybuilt shop (SODO Seattle) and our house (yes, we live right by humping saw-horses...get a room guys!). We still have to master the settings because most the shots didn't turn out, but its a blast to use of fun to use.

You do know they discontinued making film for that camera, yes? Is someone picking it up or did you get a boatload with the camera?

Lookin' good; keep'em comin' (so to speak). The film's limited life span makes these photos even more precious. Use it up -- you can't take it with you.

If you haven't already, check out Polapremium.com. There's also really good groups on Flickr (including one for the webshop).

These are great shots by the way! Polaroids definitely make you think about every shot so as not to waste film. I like to think that it's greatly helped my photo making.

Yes. It's so sad they stopped the film. We're buying it up where ever we can find it. Some Walgreens still have it around here, so that's where we're finding it for now. Thanks for the compliments on the pics!

These are so so pretty! I love the yellows, and I especially love the one in the snow.

We should dig out my DayLab. You shoot with Slides... so you don't have to "waste" a shot, then you use the daylab to transfer the image to the SX-70... for emulsion transfers or image transfers. Sad that they're not making the film anymore.
